To identify the characteristics of anxiety in anxiety and depressive neurotics, the authors applied Zung´s Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) to the anxiety (30 patients) and depressive (42 patients) neurotic patients, and tried factor analysis using SPSS/PC^(+) based on the score of each item of SAS.
The results were summarized as follows：
1. In the group of depressive neurotic patients, 4 factors were extracted as, somatic symptom, faintness, dizziness, and dyspnea factor.
2. In the group of anxiety neurotic patients, 4 factors were extracted as, somatic symptom, restlessness, anxiousness, and headache facotor.
